Wardell Stephen "Steph" Curry born to Dell and Sonya Curry, on the 14th of March, 1988 is an American professional player who plays for the Golden State warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is 6ft 3inches (1.91) tall, weighing 190lb (86kg). Steph Curry, a point guard for the Golden State Warriors, is considered as one of the greatest shooter in NBA history. It is worthy of note that Steph's Dad played in the NBA for 16 years, but having a parent that plays in the NBA does not necessarily guarantee one would become one at some point, as in the case with Marcus Jordan. Most scouts in college dismissed Curry because of his small stature; he had to work really hard to be selected for college basketball. Steph had a great high school career. However, most of the other great NBA players of today had an even better high school career. Most other NBA stars win state for their high school singlehandedly. Steph led his team to state, but never won a state championship. Steph still had a good enough high school career to go to a division one college. His father went to Virginia Tech, so naturally Steph wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and also go to Virginia Tech. However, Virginia Tech did not offer Steph a scholarship. Steph was offered scholarships to Davidson, VCU, and Winthrop. Steph chose to go to Davidson. Curry played college basketball for Davidson, where he was named twice southern conference player of the year, setting the all time scoring record for both Davidson and southern conference. During His sophomore years he set the single-season NCAA record for the three-pointer made. Curry went on to be drafted by the Golden State Warriors during the 2009 NBA Draft. However because of his recurring injuries, during his first three years he was compared to Grant Hill, whose large potential wasn't fully realized due to being constantly injured very early in his career. Like most of the things in Curry's life, he bounced back and improved tremendously setting records on his way to stardom. With his team mates, especially his close friend Klay Thompson "Splash Brother," the devote Christian and family man has led the Golden State Warriors to relevance once again. The Golden state Warriors success in the NBA is not unconnected to Steph Curry's unstoppable form. Steph has been able to lift the Golden States Warriors with his Characteristic 3 pointers time and time over again. His impact on the team cannot be over emphasized. Stephen Curry has won many honors and awards over his basketball career, but the one that stands out to him the most is winning the 2011 NBA Skills Challenge. This contest puts 6 different elite Point Guards against each other in a race with different passing, shooting, and cutting drills. Stephen Curry loved this award because it showed that he was one of the best Point Guards in the NBA. Wardell Stephen "Steph" Curry is definitely a phenomenon and a rare breed of athlete that combines family life and sports, a rare thing for athletes to do, perfectly.

NPR's Scott Simon's personal, heartfelt reflections on his beloved Chicago Cubs, replete with club lore, memorable anecdotes, frenetic fandom and wise and adoring intimacy that have made the world champion Cubbies baseball's most tortured—and now triumphant—franchise. No metaphor is necessary; the Chicago Cubs have been the living example of disappointment and failure for more than a century—until now. The Cubs' 2016 World Series win marked the end of a 108-year drought in the team's history, and Game 7 will forever be remembered as one of the most thrilling, monumental moments in sports history. For Scott Simon, host of NPR's Weekend Edition Saturday and a lifelong Cubs fan, it was a moment he never thought he'd live to see. MY CUBS chronicles Simon's adolescence in Chicago as a die-hard fan to tell the story of the relationship between the team and the neighborhood and city, and how the condition of Cubness has both charmed and haunted the lives of so many fans. From theories and curses to jinxes and myths, Simon chronicles how a team of "loveable losers" inspired such fervor and dedication from their fans, and how their 2016 win transcended sports to become an underdog narrative for the whole nation.

In their book "The AAU Wasteland," Coach Dave Taylor and Eli Gonzalez pull back the rug on the AAU and no one is safe, whether they are players, coaches, parents, the NCAA, the NBA, or major shoe companies. Far too many young, influential, and talented basketball players put their hopes into this broken system, only to become non-functioning members of society. However, there is hope! Coach Taylor and Mr. Gonzalez provide a solution that can make the sport of basketball a pure journey to enrich lives once again. If anyone can speak on the current realities of the AAU, it's Dave Taylor. He has played both high school and college basketball. He has coached Division I basketball for four years and was a head varsity basketball coach at the high school level for fifteen years in California. Taylor has been coaching high profile AAU teams and running camps for youngsters with exceptional talent for over twenty years. He currently runs the NATIONAL Jr. Phenom Camp since it started over ten years ago and has also been involved with national AAU programs such as Double Pump and the West Coast All-Star camp for decades. He oversees camps all across the country and has gone to Tokyo, Australia, Beijing, Singapore, and other countries to teach and coach the game of basketball. He will soon run the Plumlee Big Man Camps and other camps for NBA players. He was a character in and was a source of information for the New York Times Best Seller "Play Their Hearts Out" and is featured in the basketball documentary Hoop Dreams 2. Dave Taylor either directly coached or had in his camps current NBA players such as James Hardin, Carlos Boozer, Paul George, Clay Thompson, Drue Holiday, John Wall, Trevor Ariza, Gilbert Arenas, Mike Dunleavey Jr, the Lopez twins, and many more. Eli Gonzalez is a contracted ghostwriter for Xulon Press who previously coached a high school varsity boy's basketball team. Together they intricately weave a story of innocence lost, peppered with stories of NBA legends, and advice from Coach John Wooden. It also includes Coach Taylor's advice to players, parents, and coaches on leveraging the sport to a better future.

In Stephen Curry: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Sharpest Shooters, you'll read about the inspirational story of one of basketball's premier point guards Stephen Curry. Stephen Curry has had an electrifying five-year career playing in the National Basketball Association. In this short Stephen Curry biography, we will learn about how Steph became the star point guard that he is today. Starting first with his childhood and early life, we'll learn about Steph Curry prior to entering the NBA, his time in the NBA, along with his impact on the communities of Davidson College and Golden State. Steph Curry's success is not an accident. Steph Curry has transformed the Golden State Warriors franchise, spearheading the Warriors in the 2013-2014 NBA season to their second consecutive playoff birth. While the Warriors ultimately fell to the Clippers in Game 7, an exciting future presents itself for Golden State as the organization extended Klay Thompson's contract to keep the Splash Brothers together for several more years to come. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Early Life and Childhood High School Years of Steph Curry Steph's Davidson College Years 2009 NBA Draft Curry's NBA Career Steph's Selection to the 2014 All-Star Game Steph Curry's Personal Life Impact on Basketball and Beyond Steph Curry's Legacy An excerpt from the book: The first game was played against Gonzaga. The team was losing by as many as eleven points at the start of the second half, but Curry put on a heroic performance managing to score thirty points in the second half. This gave the Wildcats their first win in a NCAA tournament since 1969. Something similar happened in the second round as well. Curry was limited to five points in the first half against heavy favorites Georgetown and his team was trailing by seventeen points at one point. Curry managed to score twenty-five points in the second half, helping his team advance to the next round. Georgetown was the second seeded team in the nation that year. The whole nation noticed Curry's talent as the Wildcats lost to the top seeded Kansas Jayhawks after winning another battle versus third seeded Wisconsin. Curry managed to break several records in the process including: most three pointers in a season and joined an elite group of players to score more than 30 points in their first four games of a NCAA tournament. Stephen Curry made sure that Davidson's name would not be forgotten in the near future with his performances over his three years there. Now Curry has transferred his work ethic, attitude towards the game, and personal values into his NBA career. The future looks bright for Steph Curry at the age of twenty-five as he has already left a significant legacy at Davidson College and in the NBA as well. The holder of the record for total three pointers made in a regular season in the NBA and in the NCAA has a very optimistic future ahead of him. Steph Curry is emerging as one of the greatest point guards of the modern era. It will be exciting to see years from now how he will go down in the record books. INSTANT #1 BESTSELLER—ALL-ACCESS LOOK AT STEPH CURRY AND THE 2017 NBA CHAMPIONS GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS “A revolutionary player like Curry—whose three-point shooting altered basketball in a way similar to Babe Ruth changing baseball with the home run—deserves an in-the-moment book. And in the same way so many of Curry’s outlandish shots nestle softly into the net, so Thompson’s engaging and knowing biography successfully finds the mark.” —The Washington Post Golden is the first book to provide an all-access look at Steph Curry and the team that has fueled Dub Nation—by longtime Warriors beat reporter and Bay Area News Group sports columnist Marcus Thompson, the go-to expert on all things Golden State. A lifelong Warriors fan turned insider Thompson is uniquely qualified to tell the definitive story of a singular talent, pulling back the curtain on the crazy work ethic and on-court intensity that make Curry great—and the emphasis on family and faith that keeps him grounded. Combining the competitive grit and fun-loving spirit of his mother with the mild demeanor, easy charm, and sharp shooting of his father, former NBA player Dell Curry, Steph Curry derives support and strength from his close-knit kin and his commitment to Christianity. This hard-working, wholesome image however is both a blessing and curse in a League of big personalities. Thompson unravels the complicated underpinnings of the Steph Curry hate with a nuanced analysis of how class and complexion come into play when a child with an NBA pedigree becomes the face of a sport traditionally honed on inner-city black top and dominated by the less privileged. With unprecedented access, Thompson draws from exclusive interviews with Steph Curry, his family, his teammates, Coach Steve Kerr, and the Warriors owners to bring readers inside the locker room and courtside with this remarkable athlete and man.
